ClassDojo Partners with Ad Astra to Develop Conundrums

Ad Astra, which is the secretive LA private school that Elon Musk launched for his kids, has developed a tool for students and teachers. Ad Astra is partnering with ClassDojo, an educational software developer, to develop critical thinking puzzles known as Conundrums, which they will release to students and teachers this fall.

The new tools are intended to offer the kind of critical thinking that is espoused by Ad Astra; however, Ad Astra isn’t using that specific tool. The Conundrums are posing ethical problems or open-ended critical thinking for students. The students are then encouraged to start discussing the issues among themselves plus reason out a solution. Conundrums tend to pose more nuanced and complex questions when compared to most middle or elementary school curricula address.

ClassDojo is among the most widely used communication platforms connecting parents, teachers, and students. Creating community between families, school leaders, and teachers is a way of encouraging learning among students, creating a positive culture with classrooms and schools, and also skill development.

In 2011, a beta version of ClassDojo was released by founders Liam Don and Sam Chaudhary. It reached 3.5 million students and teachers in over 30 nations within one year. Two years later, ClassDojo became available in various languages. In the year 2014, Chaudhary and Don added a messaging feature and Class Story, which is a digital content stream created by teachers. In 2015, it was ready to be used. The app is currently available in a total of 35 languages and has been used in a total of 180 nations plus by 2 in 3 schools in the United States.

Communication via ClassDojo is straightforward, and it’s user-friendly. It’s accessible through any device that has a web browser. The app is also compatible with native apps for Android and iPhone (iOS). Instructors can open a free account and then create “classes” together with their students, and they can see classes and their individual progress. Also, they can invite parents to see their kid’s progress and information shared by teachers. Moreover, the platform also enables teachers to reward their students when they perform a task well and communicate directly with parents.

End Citizens United Supports Candidates Who Care About Finance Reform

All eyes are on the midterm elections and End Citizens United has made their candidate endorsements known. Some of their candidates are going to try to unseat some Republican incumbents. End Citizens United (ECU) founded in 2015 as a result of the 2010 Citizens United vs. FEC Supreme Court decision. ECU supports candidates who care where their campaign money comes from and who also care about the people that they represent. They believe that these candidates have a disadvantage than those candidates who are controlled by special interest groups. ECU wants to end the flow of this so-called dark money from filling up the candidate’s pockets.

In order to compete with the special interest groups and others who buy their candidates, ECU is making things a little more even with their own fundraising efforts. End Citizens United, however, does not ask for large sums of money from anyone. Instead, they do some old fashion fundraising and their average donation is only 14 dollars. However, those small amounts do add up, and they are projected to raise 35 million dollars for this election season. Read more about the group on Wikipedia.

There are many incumbents that ECU is supporting. However, there are several candidates who are looking to take seats away from Republican incumbents who line their pockets with money from special interest groups and big business. One such candidate is Beta O’Rourke, who is after Ted Cruz’s seat. O’Rourke refuses to take any money from PACs and stands out in the forefront on the issue of campaign finance.

Before Paul Ryan announced that he is stepping down, Randy Bryce was going to try to unseat Ryan. Now, Bryce is gearing up for the opponent that he will be facing in November’s election. He is off to a good start with raising the necessary funds with the average donation being 25 dollars. O’Rourke and Bryce are just the tip of the iceberg. It is ECU’s hope that all of their candidates will win the war on money and return the power to the people. Alex Pall About The Future Chainsmokers Album

The Chainsmokers are an American duo consisting of Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall, formed in 2012. They have one album under their name, as well as many successful and popular singles that blend together multiple genres, from indie, pop and dance music to hip-hop and EDM, which gives them a unique sound. Pall, age 33, acts as the duo’s DJ, while Taggart, age 28, is the producer.

Alex Pall started out as a DJ while he was growing up, trying to make a name for himself in the New York City scene, but according to him, DJing was more of a hobby and a side work than a serious career. Being really passionate about dance music, he was introduced to Andrew Taggart by their common manager, and decided to take music more seriously, both sharing an interest in electronic music. Shortly after meeting each other and realizing they have common interests and ambitions, they began doing intense work to shape up their sound and identity.

The Duo enjoyed success with their breakthrough single ‘#Selfie’ in 2014, and has constantly been releasing material to the public. Their 2017 album, ‘Memories…Do Not Open’ debuted number at one in the United States and has been certified with Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. In support of the album, they toured extensively in 2017, playing a total of 71 shows from April to October of that year, in North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania. According to them, some acts that have influenced their sound are Blink-182, Explosions in the Sky and The xx.

Pall noted that, even though their key demographic is 16 to 25, their music transcends age, and he enjoys the fact that listeners are making an emotional connection to their songs. Currently they are working on a future album, and he pointed out that, at this time in their careers it is more imperative that their next album is a cohesive body of work, as opposed to a simple collection of 10 to 12 songs that will make the album feel disjointed due to the material not blending together.
